Camp y Cymoedd!

Teams of sixth form pupils from a number of south-east Wales schools fought for the Camp y Cymoedd title at this year’s National Eisteddfod, as they took part in a series of quizzes which were arranged by Mantais. Teams representing Plasmawr, Gwynllyw and Cwm Rhymni took the chance to show off their general knowledge in the first quiz – which was held just before lunch on Monday, 2nd August – before pupils representing Glantaf, Bro Morgannwg and Y Cymer went head to head in the second contest later that afternoon. The team of Keiron, Cerys and Jake from Ysgol Gwynllyw were worthy winners of the morning quiz, whilst Efan, Jacob and Illtyd – representing Bro Morgannwg – took the spoils in the second. All six winning pupils were presented with iTunes cards.

Mantais sponsoring a Wales YFC competition

As part of a programme of events over the summer, Mantais will sponsor the Generation Game during the Royal Welsh Show.  The competition is an example of informal education where members of the organisation from all over Wales have an opportunity to display and develop their creative skills.

“Representatives of the 12 County Federations will compete in this final round with others travelling from across Wales to support competitors.  Great fun and enthusiastic competing will be evident throughout this competition which is the pinnacle of the year for many members and Clubs across Wales,"  said Tim John, Chair of Wales YFC.

Come and see the winner being announced by S4/C Presenter Mari Grug at 3.45pm on Thursday, 22 July on the YFC stage.
